Barox Ethernet PoE Switches for DIN Rails Power the Bosch MIC IP 7100i Camera.

To support installers and planners of video surveillance systems in Germany, the globally operating manufacturer of professional video Switches, media converters and IP extenders, barox Kommunikation AG, has been selected by Bosch to provide reliable PoE for the MIC IP 7000 PTZ camera series with industry standard.

The MIC IP cameras from Bosch deliver extremely high performance for critical applications, such as the monitoring of cities and congested highways. They are extremely robust, made of corrosion-resistant metal and can be used at temperatures from -40° C to +65° C. In addition, the integrated intelligent video analysis provides maximum situational awareness for extreme environments. For this reason, the cameras of the MIC series are ideally suited for monitoring highways, bridges, tunnels, ports, airport grounds and much more.

The intelligent barox Ethernet PoE network Switches have been specially developed for the high bandwidth requirements of video surveillance networks. With their robust design, the barox PoE Switches for DIN rails also work reliably under extreme temperatures, as they are certified for operation up to 75 degrees Celsius.

The barox PoE Switches for DIN rails are already used in combination with the robust MIC IP 7100i camera series from Bosch in numerous important transport and road applications and offer installers a reliable solution for providing robust high-performance PoE to meet the high PoE requirements of the MIC IP 7100i camera series with regard to light intensity and telemetry.

The barox Switches offer proven, powerful power management, a remote restart function, device diagnostics, real-time alarms and notifications for road and transport camera systems. Each barox RY-LPITE-802GBTME Switch for DIN rails, for example, can supply up to six Bosch MIC IP 7100i cameras including accessories (such as white light and infrared LED spotlights) with power and provides reliable active PoE management and reporting. In addition to the possibility of monitoring and implementing energy management for all connected devices throughout the network, the cameras can be restarted via remote control without a technician having to physically unplug a power injector on site to restart a camera. This allows the barox Switch to proactively save valuable time and money and significantly reduce network downtime over the entire life of the system.

In contrast to the general data Switches of other manufacturers, the barox video Switches have been specially designed for the high requirements of video security networks and have sophisticated integrated cyber security with strong network hygiene. barox is an ISO27000 certified manufacturer and the cyber security functions range from Sticky IP to embedded firewall functions.

The barox RY-LPITE-802GBTME has proven itself in road and transport applications worldwide and is used in a wide variety of transport and road projects. These include the elimination of bandwidth limitations, the provision of secure and reliable PoE for a network with 95 cameras and the security monitoring of the hard shoulder of an important highway section. In addition, the barox RY-LPITE-802GBTME is also in use in a highway network with 100 cameras and makes a significant contribution to the complete monitoring of traffic safety. As part of the transmission of high-quality HD images to a remote control center, the flow of traffic and traffic safety as well as disruptions such as breakdowns or accidents are continuously monitored. Reliable, high-resolution images are an important tool for system operators to ensure the safety of users and the flow of traffic – and in this context, the barox RY-LPITE-802GBTME in combination with the MIC IP 7100i camera series has proven itself to be an essential component of the success of many monitoring systems.

These advantages benefit not only the nationwide road and highway network in Germany, but also applications for tunnel safety and the protection of factory premises, such as in oil and gas refineries. There, extreme temperatures, remote locations, poor lighting conditions and hazardous technical processes require a safe and reliable specification for the monitoring system. With the combination of the barox Ethernet PoE Switch with the camera from Bosch, highly robust and secure video networks are available to support effective security of special areas on the refinery site and at its borders.

“With barox technology and the Bosch MIC IP 7100i camera series, two leading European brands have joined forces to bring a proven solution to the German market,” says Angelo Banfi, Managing Director of barox. “The advantages of robust high-power PoE over a wide temperature range and advanced cyber security combined with simple installation and setup make barox technology the perfect partner for the Bosch MIC IP 7100i camera series and the many different applications that are specifically tailored to the needs of the German region.”
