xNMS – The central platform for efficient network management
xNMS simplifies the planning, management, and monitoring of complex video and security networks on a central platform – from initial configuration to ongoing operation. Thanks to automatic network discovery, visual topology, and an integrated Diff-Checker, xNMS creates maximum transparency, reduces sources of error, and significantly accelerates troubleshooting. Virtual preparation and “Plug & Play” commissioning also ensure faster rollouts, less on-site effort, and maximum operational reliability.
Project and network planning – fast, central, and efficient.
Network discovery automatically scans the existing infrastructure for switches and displays them clearly as a list and in a topology. This gives you full transparency over the entire network and significantly simplifies troubleshooting.
Diff-Checker – maximum transparency and security in network operation.
The Diff-Checker makes changes in the network visible immediately and at a glance. It detects deviations between stored and active configurations in real time and displays unauthorized changes immediately. This allows errors to be corrected faster, standards to be maintained, and operational risks to be reduced. At the same time, it supports clean documentation and simplifies auditing.
Configuration Management – faster rollouts, fewer errors, and maximum planning security.
Configuration management enables seamless preparation even before the hardware is delivered. Switches are preconfigured in advance – for true “Plug & Play” commissioning directly after installation. Configurations can be simulated and validated so that misconfigurations are detected early. Dependencies and bottlenecks become visible before the hardware is even ordered or installed.
Firmware and Backup Management
The backup function reliably secures switch configurations and stores different version statuses centrally. If necessary, previous configurations can be restored at any time, enabling a fast and secure rollback. This feature is expected to be available from Q4/2026 in software release V.1.1.

xNMS – Insights into the platform
DMS, the Device Management System from barox
Simplify your network management with our license-free Device Management System (DMS), which is integrated into most barox RY series switches.
Some of the most important functions of the DMS are:
- Automatic display of the network topology and IP addresses
- Automatic detection of device types, such as IP cameras or servers
- Plug-in for networking with the most common VMS and PSIM systems
- Firmware update of multiple switches via DMS
For example, if a new camera is added to the network, it is automatically recognized by the DMS and displayed along with its IP address. This eliminates the time-consuming task of determining the IP address of a new camera. The DMS can measure and display the data traffic of a link over time. This function is very helpful for troubleshooting in the network.
Seamless integration into VMS and PSIM systems
Optimize the management of your network infrastructure with the seamless integration of barox switches into leading VMS and PSIM systems. Network events and device statuses are visualized centrally, allowing faults to be detected and resolved more quickly. Remote restarts and automated responses to defined events minimize manual effort and reduce costly on-site visits.

- Remote restart of IP devices and PoE ports centrally via the integrated VMS/PSIM system
- Network and switch events are displayed directly in the VMS/PSIM as alarms
- Automatic responses to defined events, e.g., port reboot in case of camera errors
