Sustainability at barox

Responsibility that shapes the future. We translate our sustainability goals into concrete measures that we consistently implement across our entire value chain.

A systematic approach to real impact

For us, sustainability is not a standalone project, but firmly embedded in our day-to-day actions. With our ISO 14001 environmental management system, we systematically analyse our impacts, set clear priorities, and continuously improve.

Our principle is clear and effective:

analyse → prioritise → implement → improve

We deliberately focus on the measures that make the biggest difference—data-driven, transparent, and measurable. Because for us, the rule is: sustainability must not only be well-intentioned, it must actually make an impact.

Less plastic. More conviction.

Packaging significantly shapes our environmental footprint. This is exactly where we take action with clear decisions and consistent implementation. By using alternative materials, optimised designs, and binding requirements for our suppliers, we have been able to significantly reduce our plastic consumption.

The result: less material, less environmental impact, with unchanged reliable product protection. A step that shows responsibility and quality are not a contradiction.

Less CO₂ on every route

A key lever lies in our supply chain. That is why we have consistently analysed and optimised our transport routes. Our emissions are calculated in accordance with ISO 14083. Since 2023, we have had a completely rebuilt, transparent data basis.

What we have achieved:

  • noticeably lower emissions per transported goods
  • around one third less CO₂ emissions per unit of weight
  • successful shift from air to sea freight

What is particularly important to us: even the smallest changes can have major effects. An increase in air freight of just 1% can significantly raise total emissions. That is why our course remains clear: as much sea freight as possible, as little air freight as necessary.

Value resources. Reduce waste.

Sustainability often begins in everyday life and in the conscious use of resources. At all locations, we rely on consistent waste separation, clear collection systems, and the active involvement of our employees.

A particularly effective approach: we reuse intact packaging multiple times, extending its life cycle. Simple, efficient, and without additional effort. The trend is clear: awareness is growing, and responsible use of resources is becoming increasingly natural for us.

Looking ahead

Sustainability is not a goal, but an ongoing process. That is why we continuously work on further improvements.

  • Optimise transport
  • further reduction of CO₂ through increased use of sea freight
  • more efficient delivery routes and logistics solutions to the customer Rethink packaging solutions
  • even less plastic
  • even more sustainable and alternative materials
  • avoid packaging wherever possible

Our commitment remains: to question what exists and consistently improve.

With responsibility towards a liveable future

Our experience shows: real impact is achieved when the right decisions are made at the decisive points and this path is pursued consistently.

For us, sustainability means:

  • taking responsibility
  • acting pragmatically
  • getting a little better every day

This is exactly the path we will continue to follow. Step by step, with the firm commitment to make our contribution to a liveable environment. In doing so, we always keep in mind that future generations should also be able to experience this world under good conditions.
