New Barox Media Converters and Injectors for PoE++, IEEE 802.3bt up to 90w
barox Kommunikation AG, the global manufacturer of professional IP switches, media converters, and IP extenders for video applications, has released a new series of managed and unmanaged industrial media converters. All devices support the new PoE standard IEEE 802.3bt and can deliver up to 90W of PoE power per port.
The new, robust, and compact media converters for DIN rail mounting are a high-quality and powerful product line, which, in some models, deliver up to 90 watts of PoE, PoE+, and PoE++ according to IEEE802.3af/at/bt. Thanks to their robust industrial design and wide operating temperature range (-40°C to +75°C), they are suitable for outdoor use in a cabinet/enclosure.
For general video transmission applications, the PD-BTPMC102M-GE media converter features an optical SFP port with 100/1000FX and two copper ports with 10/100/1000TX. PoE 802.3af/at/bt. This device can deliver 90W per port and 120W total. Its management functions enable PoE control, including monitoring of connected devices. Furthermore, connected lines can also be monitored remotely. The included mounting accessories allow for easy installation of the media converter on a DIN rail or wall.
The industrial media converter PC-BTPMC101-GE is ideal for high-data-load applications such as Video over IP or video streaming. The media converter features an optical SFP port and a copper port with 10/100/1000TX, which supports PoE 802.3af/at/bt and can deliver up to 90W of PoE. This high power makes it ideal for use in high-power-consumption systems, such as PTZ camera domes, LED lighting, wipers, and heaters – eliminating the need for a network injector. The similar new PC-BTPMC101-10GE has the same specifications as the aforementioned media converter but differs in its higher data rate of 10Gbps.
For those requiring robust PoE power, barox offers the industrial PoE injector series, the PC-INJ Series. This series features the same compact, DIN-mountable design, specifically developed for use in harsh/remote environments. The injectors in this series feature two copper ports (Data and Data + PoE) with 10/100/1000TX. Depending on the model, they can deliver a maximum of 30, 60, or 95W of PoE.
“The new industrial managed and unmanaged media converters for DIN rail provide installers and end-users with the ability to support the latest PoE-heavy applications,” says Rudolf Rohr, co-founder and managing partner of barox. “We are seeing a demand for higher PoE power from increasingly powerful devices, such as dome cameras. As an extension of the successful barox industrial PC media converters, the new media converters support the 802.3bt standard with robust PoE performance of up to 90W.”
