Other features include active camera monitoring, remote reboot of connected devices, sophisticated cable diagnostics, PoE monitoring, active PoE power management and Non-Stop-PoE, all of which align with Custom Intelligent Security’s commitment to proactive engineering design. The intuitive graphical interface and diagnostic tools of the barox Device Management System (DMS) further enhance system performance, ensuring reliability and security for the customer.
The Genetec integration of barox network management provides flexibility and advanced network diagnostics, as well as full access to all barox SNMP traps within the Genetec Security Center, which provides a single, unified user interface. The seamless integration of barox into the Genetec dashboard enables complete visualization and diagnostic reporting of real-time events. This capability, combined with advanced network management functions, sets barox apart from other switch manufacturers. The data-rich barox DMS and energy management tools are particularly valuable when it comes to helping companies achieve their Net Zero goals.
Improving reliability, sustainability and cybersecurity

With barox Ethernet switch integration, enhanced diagnostic data enables rapid localization of network or device problems, allowing faults and failures to be diagnosed remotely. For example, if a network camera is not responding, the barox switches can independently send a reboot command, saving valuable device downtime and in many cases bringing a device back online or resolving the problem without the need to involve a technician. In the event of a security breach, devices can be disabled at the user level to maintain operation, while full remote control of PoE at ports allows Custom Intelligent Security to re-enable or disable them as needed.
“The barox integration also provides enhanced cybersecurity between the camera and the command and control platform – including login with authentication certificate,” Bruno continues. “Together with the integration into the Genetec Security Center, this underlines our ability to develop high-quality security solutions, with our core offering focusing on the key areas of access control, CCTV, intrusion detection and system integration.”
“In response to the impact of the Covid pandemic, we have developed a greatly improved ‘E-Service’ that uses notifications to perform remote updates including antivirus updates and Windows patching. With our software maintenance agreement, we support our customers with an all-round service and commit to updating our customers’ software. For customers with a Genetec software support license, for example, we ensure that performance and protection are up to date to prevent security vulnerabilities from occurring.”
