“Connected Worlds” – Unique Showroom Created by BKS with Switches for Video from Barox
Application examples from Berlin, Frankfurt, Ditzingen are shown in a realistic setting — and cameras, intercoms, access control systems are controlled with barox Switches.
On November 3, 2021, BKS, a subsidiary of the GU Group, based in Velbert, opened its unique 1,000m2 showroom under the fitting title ‘BKS Connected Worlds’. The goal of this unique showroom is to make scenarios from single and multi-family homes, retail, data centers, hospitals, hotels, campuses, correctional facilities, gas stations, and even drone surveillance tangible through an IP network supplied by barox, and to demonstrate expertise for the various requirements of system solutions for access control, smoke and heat extraction (RWA), hazard models, escape and rescue routes, and video surveillance systems, as well as to present the service portfolio of the BKS Connect business unit for electronic and mechanical security.
Only high-quality devices and technologies from the security sector were used, which were integrated into the overarching and manufacturer-neutral management system GEMOS and comprehensively presented on a single interface in the control center, which was also set up.
” ‘BKS Connected Worlds’ offer the space for dialogue with customers to discuss solution approaches, ideas, and suggestions concretely on-site,” explains Jan Rippen, Sales Manager DACH BKS Connect, to the astonished visitors. “It is fascinating how all security-relevant applications are shown and made tangible in a realistic setting. Each station allows for its own activations of alarms, isolations, or recordings. We are thrilled that as a provider of high-quality Switches, which are specifically designed for video and, in this case, also prove to be perfectly suitable for all other security trades, we are extensively deployed here. We are proud and grateful to be a concept partner for this incredible idea and implementation,” describes Diana Henn, Sales Manager Germany North at barox Kommunikation, her impression when she was one of the first to visit the premises.
To ensure these connections and applications function flawlessly and reliably, BKS relies on high-quality Switches from barox. Thus, the uniquely presented hospital and hotel rooms, famous districts from Berlin, Frankfurt, and Ditzingen, the gas station, up to the prison cell, and the single and multi-family home were equipped with security technologies ranging from fire, assault, and intrusion alarm systems, video surveillance, access control, escape door and turnstile control, voice, cell call, and intercom systems, to lighting, climate, elevator control, and building management systems, connected to barox Switches and linked via multimode fiber optics. Cameras, intercoms, access control systems, etc., can be powered via PoE directly from the Switch, and restarted or reset if necessary. If network knowledge is lacking, the corresponding operation is, of course, also possible from the overarching GEMOS management system. “We chose barox as a concept partner for the network because we were convinced by the reliability of the devices, the intuitive GUI, and the high performance of the Switches – especially in the area of cybersecurity. It is important to us to be able to provide comprehensive advice to customers, starting from our GEMOS management system, through sensible high-end devices, to a stable network that is always capable of detecting and displaying potential errors to eliminate them in the shortest possible time. Especially in this regard, barox always offers reliable support,” emphasizes Christof Kraka, Technical Sales BKS.
