New Media Converters with PDOR Function for Remote PoE Control
New Media Converters with PDOR Function for Remote PoE Control
Our new media converters PC-PMCRP101-GE and PC-BTPMC101-GE offer the ability, thanks to the PDOR (PD Optical Reboot) function, to remotely switch the PoE output to end devices – such as IP cameras – on and off. This not only enables a targeted camera restart but also allows for a complete shutdown in certain cases, for example, due to data protection reasons.
This system will be supplemented from spring 2025 by the new SFP auto-checking function on the RY-LGSO25-24 and RY-LGSO25-28 Switches. The optical ports of these Switches regularly ping connected cameras. If a camera does not respond within a defined period, then:
- the corresponding port is temporarily deactivated
- the PoE supply via the media converter is interrupted by PDOR and restored after defined time intervals – thereby triggering an automatic camera reboot
- at the same time, the Switch reports this incident, for example, via email.
This integrated solution increases operational reliability and minimizes manual intervention – ideal for modern, flexible surveillance systems.
