barox Kommunikation AG, a globally active manufacturer of professional standard switches, PoE media converters, and IP extenders, has introduced a new plugin that significantly expands the operational capabilities for the MOBOTIX HUB VMS.

 

The new DMS-SNMP plugin enhances the user-friendliness of MOBOTIX HUB, thereby underscoring barox’s commitment to offering network solutions tailored to the needs of the modern video security market. Through easy integration into the barox Ethernet switch family, MOBOTIX HUB provides users and installers with a very helpful tool for configuring and operating video networks, minimizing the time and effort required for device setup.

 

Furthermore, the barox MOBOTIX HUB plugin enables seamless VMS access to special switch functions, allowing integrators and operators to better manage their security network and connected devices. Smart-barox provides a graphical live overview of the network topology with a wealth of valuable network information. With Smart-barox, VMS system diagnostic data displays the status of cameras and switches, enabling quick localization of network and device problems.

For example, if a network camera is unresponsive, any device can be selected with Smart-barox and a restart command sent. Smart-barox tools include PoE monitoring, cable diagnostics, and remote switch traffic monitoring, where live data traffic is displayed in a graphical chart. The ability to view traffic on each port facilitates remote diagnosis of errors and failures.
