Barox is Committed to Reducing its Impact on the Environment and Obtains ISO 14001 Certification

barox Kommunikation AG, the globally active manufacturer of professional standard switches, PoE media converters and IP extenders specially developed for video applications, has been awarded ISO 14001 status.

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standard for environmental management, ISO 14001, confirms barox as a manufacturer that takes environmental issues seriously and takes measures to reduce its impact on the environment through the successful implementation of an environmental management system (EMS).

An EMS according to ISO 14001 introduces a continuous improvement approach throughout the company, which systematically assesses the company’s best and worst impacts on the environment and uses this data to prioritize positive concrete measures in the short, medium and long term.

In some cases, the optimization of processes can also lead directly to cost savings. Overall, however, the benefit of environmentally sound action is an advantage for society.

“We show our customers that barox prioritizes environmental issues and acts accordingly,” says Angelo Banfi, barox co-founder and managing partner. “barox takes environmental issues seriously, and we are committed to reviewing, documenting and implementing our workflows to minimize our environmental impact.”

“Environmentally friendly action benefits our company and our customers and corresponds to a socially responsible ethic. For example, we have been able to steadily reduce the proportion of plastics in our product packaging over the past two years. This not only has a positive impact on the environment, but also on our customers, who can now also act in a more environmentally friendly manner when disposing of their barox packaging.”
