This switch, optimized for video, was developed especially for outdoor applications with high data loads, e.g. Video over IP, Video streaming. Due to the IP-67 protected housing including connections, the switch can also be mounted outdoors without separate weather protection. The switch can also be powered directly via PoE, thus no local electrical supply is needed. The VI-3003W also outputs PoE. This in turn allows IP cameras to be powered via the data cables. The compact design and the reduced number of ports make this switch ideal for smaller systems or as a remote unit in a larger network.

Extra high backplane performance for a smooth video transmission with full port occupancy. Jumbo frames up to 9600Bytes are also supported at 100MBit/s.

PoE OUT means the switch is a PSE (Power Sourcing Device) and feeds e.g. a camera.
PoE IN means the switch is a PD (Powered Device) and is powered by PoE.

The RJ45 connectors of the cables to be connected must be assembled in the field. The space available for this is limited. We recommend the modular connectors, RJ45 plugs from AMP. E.g. available from Farnell. See picture at the bottom of this data sheet.
